No, it's a three-wheeled recumbent human-powered vehicle..... (lay-back trike).
Scott Creek Primary's entry in the Australian HPV Super Series has been busy on a racing track at Murray Bridge over 15th-17th September. If you're associated with the elder half of our school students, you're probably very aware of that.
Unfortunately, the poor 15-cylinder engine had been running a little out of tune in the prior week. Despite an enthusiastic communal effort with regular leg-building practices, virus took away a hefty chunk of the power: bucket-loads of 5-6-7 students were on sick leave, hoping to get better as quickly as possible. Nasty little parasite. 'tsnot fair.
Nevertheless, we all turned up. We gave as much of 100% as could be afforded. And we finished. And it was fuuunnn (well apart from sleep-deprivation and the nasty bug).
There's more than one way of looking at how the weekend unfolded, and everybody has a story to tell. There's the race, the statistics, the on-track events, the mechanical issues, camping, and the background comedy of disasters.
